Privacy Policy

Your files, playlists, queue and preferences remain on your iPhone. BitaBit only makes external connections when you use online features such as radio, podcasts or their related media. The website uses aggregated, cookie-free analytics to understand which pages work best.

BitaBit may store the data required to provide continuity between sessions locally:

• Imported files and secure permissions granted through the iOS document picker.
• Playback queue, recent position and local playlists.
• Favorites, recent stations and radio settings.
• Podcast subscriptions, progress, downloads, feed cache and preferences.
• Audio settings, equalizer profiles, cached artwork and extracted metadata.

Because local audio is selected from locations you control and is not uploaded to BitaBit, Overpal does not inspect or verify who owns it. You are responsible for ensuring that each file is yours or that you have the licence, permission or other legal basis required to retain and play it.

When you choose an online feature, your iPhone connects directly to the Radio Browser directory, the station, public podcast search services, RSS feeds and audio or artwork providers. Those requests include the technical Internet data normally sent by a device, such as its IP address and user agent. Each provider applies its own policy and retention periods; BitaBit does not proxy those requests through its own backend.

This site uses Vercel Web Analytics to record page views and aggregated metrics such as the visited path, referrer, approximate country, browser, operating system and device type. It uses no cookies and creates no cross-site history; the daily identifier is discarded after 24 hours and the data is not shown as linked to a person or IP address.

For clarity:

• It does not upload your audio files to BitaBit servers.
• It does not require an account or create a listening profile.
• It does not sell or share your listening history with profiling services.
• It does not use your local library to create a remote listening profile.
• It does not scan your whole device or read other apps' libraries.
• It does not use your microphone, location, contacts or camera to play music.
• It does not include, host, sell or supply third-party commercial copyrighted music files or operate an on-demand music catalogue.

BitaBit uses open-source components such as SFBAudioEngine and libvgm locally for decoding and synthesis. Radio, podcast, feed, stream and artwork services are involved only when you use those features. Their availability, content and data handling are controlled by each provider.

The app includes no third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK. Apple may provide system diagnostics to the developer if you enabled Share With App Developers in iOS Privacy & Security analytics settings. That collection and its controls are provided by Apple.

Local data remains on the device until you delete it in BitaBit, remove a file, clear a cache or uninstall the app. You can delete downloads, radio history, playlists, subscriptions and other data from their respective controls. Podcast notifications require permission and can be revoked at any time in BitaBit or iOS Settings.

BitaBit is rated 4+ and offers no accounts, public profiles or social features. It does not knowingly request personal data from children.
